Gloria en exelsi Deo

Christmas has had a long and varied history. It was been celebrated for centuries by different people, at different times, in different places, and in many different ways. This article will teach you how to know Him, God, personally.

What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Devote yourself to unselfish religious deeds? Become a better person so that God will accept you?

You may be surprised that none of those things will work. But God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him.

There are following principles that will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now, through Jesus Christ...

Principle 1: God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.

God's Love

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

God's Plan

[Christ speaking] "I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly" [that it might be full and meaningful].

Why is it that most people are not experiencing the abundant life? Because...

Principle 2: All of us sin and our sin has separated us from God.

We Are Sinful

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

We were created to have fellowship with God; but, because of our stubborn self-will, we chose to go our own independent way, and fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

We Are Separated

"The wages of sin is death" [spiritual separation from God].

This diagram illustrates that God is holy and people are sinful. A great gulf separates us. The arrows illustrate that we are continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through our own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy, or religion -- but we inevitably fail.

The third law explains the only way to bridge this gulf...

Principle 3: Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Him we can know and experience God's love and plan for our life.

He Died in Our Place

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

He Rose From the Dead

"Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures...He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred..."

He Is the Only Way to God

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'"

This diagram illustrates that God has bridged the gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.

It is not enough just to know these three principles...

Principle 4: We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

We Must Receive Christ

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name."

We Receive Christ Through Faith

"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."

When We Receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth

We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation

[Christ speaking] "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him."

Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. You receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.

These two circles represent two kinds of lives:

Which circle best describes your life?

Which circle would you like to have represent your life?

The following explains how you can receive Christ:

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer

Prayer is talking to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, then you can pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised

Over 1,000 Species Discovered On A Single Area

Monday, December 15, 2008

BANGKOK (AFP) – Scientists have discovered more than 1,000 species in Southeast Asia's Greater Mekong region in the past decade, including a spider as big as a dinner plate, the World Wildlife Fund said Monday.

A rat thought to have become extinct 11 million years ago and a cyanide-laced, shocking pink millipede were among creatures found in what the group called a "biological treasure trove".

The species were all found in the rainforests and wetlands along the Mekong River, which flows through Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and the southern Chinese province of Yunnan.

"It doesn't get any better than this," Stuart Chapman, director of WWF's Greater Mekong Programme, was quoted as saying in a statement by the group.

"We thought discoveries of this scale were confined to the history books."

The WWF report, "First Contact in the Greater Mekong", said that "between 1997 and 2007, at least 1,068 have been officially described by science as being newly discovered species."

These included the world's largest huntsman spider, with a leg span of 30 centimetres (11.8 inches), and the "startlingly" coloured "dragon millipede", which produces the deadly compound cyanide.

Not all species were found hiding in remote jungles -- the Laotian rock rat, which the study said was thought to be extinct about 11 million years ago, was first encountered by scientists in a local food market in 2005, it said.

Fashion Looks You Won't Dare To Try

Friday, December 12, 2008

After convincing my self to post more about fashion, i guess i came up with this. Another idea loaded from momgrind but i made a big difference. Yes a difference because you won't gonna dare trying these fashions of they so called "uniqueness".

Well, the girl above may look cool or even hot for some especially guys but not this one:

or even this one...

Girls that are wearing jeans with torn, torn it on the RIGHT place on your jeans. I mean not too high that your underthings will peep someone's eye.

Caution: The next image you are about to witness is not fabricated. You won't gonna like to lead your attention to the persons on the image. But please, do not call any exterminator, slasher, ripper, or even hairdresser.

awful...or even awful as this unique fashion shoes?

All of you i think got a bit of memory for the Rock and Roll Legend, Elvis Presley. Elvis provide an icon to music industry especially to fashion. It was so hot that this one:

Cool Elvis' attire, as long as it get fitted. On the other hand, these next two modern or earlier human beings i guess will be the next stars...

Great fashion icons...

World Hair Trends: Remembering the past up to now

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Professional stylists influence hair fashion with masterfully crafted works of art presented at local, national, and global hair shows. Each new show reveals a fresh approach to hair styling and coloring. New products, new techniques, and a range of looks from classic to the very fabulous ones!

Well, this is a bit unintentional post for me. I googled if there's such a topic about funny hairstyles, and my luck momgrind and 80srewind provided some pics for me to relate to.

Caution: Some of the hairstyles you are about to see are not Eco-friendly and may harm our ozone layer. The people on the images are just fashionable and have the sense of humor to show up. Parental guidance is advised. :D

Let's start from the 50s...

1950s: Beehive Hair

Correct me if i'm wrong but i guess now i know where these ERASER heads came from.

And oh! there's an urban legend occurring on this hairstyle. see this for more:
The Fatal Hairdo

Early 60s: Big, Stiff, Very “Done” Hair

1970s: Feathered Hair

and the male version...

and it made me think if the U.S. former President George Washington be the first to have this hairstyle.

1970s - 1980s: Tight Perm, A.K.A Poodle Perm

Some rocker style of the 70s and the 80s. A big tribute for the slow rock legends including Dire Strait in my opinion. No wonder why our paps even did this style before :D Well it's funny nowadays.

1980s: Big Hair, Jheri Curl, New Wave and the Mohawk

According to momgrind, eighties were all about power dressing, big shoulders, lots of jewelry and of course BIG hair. You will likely need a combination of hair mousse, hair gel and hairspray to recreate this lovely look.

Check out this metal band, Poison. Now see the idea of what was BIG hair meant those times.

Look at this guy. Jheri curl was a product that African Americans used to relax their hair. The result was a curly, wet look that, at the time, was hot. So hot in fact that Micheal Jackson himself had a Jheri Curl (or something close to it). Micheal Jackson’s hair actual caught fire during a Coke commercial when a spark from the fire works on set hit this chemicalized hair. Caution: Flammable!

Mike Score, lead singer of an 80s band known as A Flock of Seagulls, is wearing a style that he made famous.

The New Wave 80s hair style consists of short hair in the back and sides with very long hair in the front swooping over one eye. Gay is the way to go with the new wave hair style. It should look pretty and glamourous.

This is one of the most insane hairstyles of the 80s. It looks like a stylized backward mullet. There is simply no excuse for this hair style.

1970s-1990s: Mullet

Well, i call this the horse hair style. :D Short in the front, top, and sides, but long in the back. This hairstyle was popular from the early 1970s to the early 1990s. Just take a look!

Below is the Mohawk, a hairstyle which consists of shaving both sides of the head, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the middle. Mohawks became common in youth punk subcultures in the early 1980s, then gradually spread to mainstream fashion. The hair in the middle is often elaborately shaped:

Timeless: The Combover

A combover is worn by bald or balding men in which the hair on one side of the head is grown long and then combed over the bald area to minimize the display of baldness. Mostly seen on politicians nowadays :)

And spartans...

Today? There are so many hair style trends for Y2k. Hair trends come and go so quickly, it can be a challenge keeping up on the latest hair styles.

Be Thankful

"Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times,
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings."

Thank you ate Ray for this tag! And now i am passing this to the following bloggers:

Ria Stevenson

1. Give 5 reasons how grateful you are
2. pass to 5 bloggers. good luck

Flightless Bird, American Mouth - Iron and Wine (Twilight Soundtrack)

Monday, December 1, 2008

Flightless Bird, American Mouth - Iron & Wine

Lyrics on the rest of the post, enjoy!

I was a quick wet boy
Diving too deep for coins
All of your straight blind eyes
Wide on my plastic toys
And when the cops closed the fair
I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map
And called for you everywhere

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill looming

Now I’m a fat house cat
Cursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats
Curl through the wide/white fence cracks
Kissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean
Blood of Christ mountain stream

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, brown hair bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill, stuck going down

Robert Pattinson - Never Think (Twilight Soundtrack)

Never Think - Robert Pattinson

Lyrics on the rest of the post... Enjoy!

I should never think
What's in your heart
What's in our home
So I won't

You'll learn to hate me
But still call me baby
Oh love
So call me by my name
And save your soul
Save your soul
Before your to far gone
Before nothing can be done

I'll try to decide when
She'll lie in the end
I ain't got no fight in me
In this whole damn world
So hold off -wrong- (Tell you to hold off)
She should hold off-wrong- (You choose to hold on)
It's the one thing that I've known

Once I put my coat on
I coming out in this all wrong
She standing outside holding me
Saying oh please
I'm in love
I'm in love

Girl save your soul
Go on save your soul
Before it's to far gone
And before nothing can be done

Cause without me
You got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
Without me you got it all
So hold on
